A Message from Dolores Fowler, Foundation Executive Director:
There's good news and really good news! The good news is that the NEW High Prairie Branch Library in Falcon is going to have a groundbreaking celebration early this fall! And the really good news is that we just received a $500,000 grant from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs toward the construction of the Branch! Many of you have sent in your support directly to the Library’s Foundation or through the Farmer’s State Bank Bucks for Books Campaign and we thank you. Building the NEW Branch is only possible because you and the funding community have joined forces to make it happen.
Now that we have the construction paid for, we are looking for an additional $132,000 to pay for the furniture, shelving, fixtures, PC’s, laptops and other items. Will you help us finish this up with a donation toward the purchase of these items? They range in price from $83 to $3,500 for everything from magazine racks to chairs to computers. Or you might want to ask your family, extended family, friends, co-workers, or club members to pitch in for a group purchase. We will take each contribution for an item on a first come-first served basis. If an item is no longer available, we will apply your contribution to the next closest piece.
Depending on the piece, your name or names will be placed directly on the item, for example, bookshelves will display a plaque bearing the donor’s Name, Family, Business, or Organization. All purchases will be listed in a book of support that will be displayed at the Branch. For example, the magazine racks cannot be labeled, but the donor will be included in the Book of Names.
Thank you again for your support – your NEW Branch Library is scheduled to be open early next summer. The $3 million needed for construction is in hand. We need your help to finish it up by donating toward furniture, fixtures and equipment. Please send in your donation or pledge today. And keep the good news coming!

PS: Donations of $250 or more to the High Prairie Branch Library qualify for Enterprise Zone (EZ) additional tax benefits for Colorado taxpayers. Please send your checks payable to the El Paso County Enterprise Zone noting “High Prairie” in the memo line to the Foundation.

Bucks for Books
Farmers State Bank announces a new campaign to aid Pikes Peak Library District in its effort to raise money for the new High Prairie Branch Library.
To help support this addition to our community please stop by any Farmers State Bank location to make a donation of $3 or more and receive your FSB window cling.
Donors are also eligible for our weekly drawings. Once your window cling is in place and is noticed by a FSB employee your license plate number will be placed in a drawing and posted in the FSB lobbies and on the FSB website. Prizes are $25 gift cards to participating merchants.
